Blogger Heaven
This is the most exciting post to date, I have been dying to share this with everyone for a while now. Being cheeky definitely pays off sometimes, as does taking the initiative.
After getting in touch with local Birmingham Blogger Selina Jervis, we arranged a day and time to head to Birmingham town centre and take some fashion snaps for a 1970's inspired blog post.
Having a new found confidence from my previous location shoot, I was completely at ease throughout the whole shoot. It helped that Selina is the nicest girl and we got on like a house on fire as well!
She was a real sport, tottering around on the cobbles in her high heels never once complaining about the cold- she was wearing summer clothes and although it was sunny it wasn't overly warm so she must have been freezing!
For someone who has never had professional photos taken for her blog, she posed like an absolute pro. She was a photographers dream! So elegent and confident but at the same time so down to earth and easy to work with. Her blog is award winning and it's easy to see why.
In regards to the photos, I wanted the shots to be extremely fash
ion blog- esque. Creating a Pinterest board for this was so much fun; I noticed most of the photos used the surrounding area in imaginative ways, whether it was sitting on stairs, walking across roads or leaning against kooky walls. The photos were also really sharp and bright, conveying real luxury. I wanted the photos to look like they were taken in Chelsea-
high end, high profile and high quality. For me, it was all about using what I had available to me to make the clothes and the setting look appealing as, after all, the point of the blog is to inspire people.
Again, I used the in camera flash to fill in any shadows and make the colours pop. We were lucky with the weather as the sun acted as a natural fill light which made the blue in her clothes look exquisite. Her clothes were gorgeous, full of texture and movement and I felt that this should be the main focus of the photos. We had so much fun; I had her swinging around lamposts, lounging on steps and posing in front of a gorgeous vintage car that we found. It was an absolute pleasure and I sincerely hope we have the chance to work together again in the near future.
